Whether you prefer it buttery and salty, sweet and caramel-coated, or loaded with your own creative concoctions, the day is all about celebrating this iconic snack that brings smiles to faces of all ages. So, get ready to pop, crackle, and rock with us as we dive into a day dedicated to the one and only... popcorn!
Join us on July 19th, for a day filled with fun for the whole family, as Sawyer Ludwig Park in Marion, Ohio is turned into a wonderland of adventure, tournaments, vendors, and more. Check out our list below of all of the activities surrounding the First Annual Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day.
Kickstart the day at 8:00 AM with the Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day 5k Presented by Planet Fitness. The race will begin inside Sawyer Ludwig Park, wind it's way through the trails of the park, head through a nearby neighborhood, and back to the park. This fun event provides entrants to support the efforts of The Rockin' Poppin' Organization while entering a "Judgement Free Zone." Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Last Place.
The first 30 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt with sign up. Not into the racing scene? Don't worry, we have more events to tell you about.
What would Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day be without that fresh smell and taste of some of the best snack of all time. Popcorn Day has a wide variety of the greatest snack food and many vendors from all over the country vying for a space at the event. Enjoy a day of shopping through about 100 different vendors, food trucks, and popcorn snacks. Interested in becoming a vendor for the event?

We are excited to announce the Rockin' Poppin' Bounce Zone Presented by The American Legion Post 162. Kids can enjoy unlimited bouncing throughout the day on 5 of the biggest, and craziest bounce houses. Including a 2-story double slide, a 55-foot obstacle course, king castle and tropical bounce houses. Don't worry, we didn't forget the littlest of kernels, we even have a toddle bounce house, just for them.
Celebrity Kickball Tournament is coming to the Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day as businesses and organizations from all over Marion County compete in the school yard game of Kickball in a tournament style competition. Teams will compete in a double elimination tournament bracket for a chance to win $500 for an organization of their choosing. Come cheer on a team or form a team of your own, either way, this event is expected to draw a crowd.

Another great event taking place at Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day is our First Annual Disc Golf Tournament. Form your team of 2 or more to compete in 18 holes of ultimate fun. There is a cash payout to the winners of the Disc Golf Tournament, or the winner can choose to donate their winnings to a charity of their choice. There is still plenty of time to get your team registered.
Who doesn't love a good Scavenger Hunt Showdown? Kids of all ages can join in the fun and search all over the park for some of the craziest things at the Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day. Items can range from a giant pencil to a small bird image, the possibilities are endless in the Scavenger Hunt Showdown.
No need to register, just stop at the information tent located near to the Radio Trailer on the grounds of the festival to get your official entry card. Once you have found all of the items listed, bring your score entry card back to the information tent for a small prize. One lucky kid will walk about with a brand-new bike thanks to Riverside Radio on RadiBox and NewsForce Media.
Become the Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day Royalty! This exciting event is open to everyone of all ages who wants a chance to wear the crown. Participate in a friendly competition to see who can sell the most Door Prize Raffle tickets. The top seller in each of our four categories will be crowned our Popcorn Day Royalty!
Here's how it works:
* Open to All Ages: Anyone can participate!
* Sell Raffle Tickets: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sell as many Door Prize Raffle tickets as you can.
* Age & Gender Categories: We have four distinct categories to ensure fair competition:
* Females aged 0-17
* Males aged 0-17
* Females aged 18+
* Males aged 18+
* Crowning Glory: The individual in each of the four categories who sells the most Door Prize Raffle tickets will be crowned our Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day Royalty!

Get ready for some fun and friendly competition at Rockin' Poppin' Popcorn Day! Scattered throughout the festival grounds, you'll find a delightful array of classic carnival games just waiting to be played. Simply head over to the Raffle/Information tent to purchase your carnival tickets, and then let the games begin! Test your skills at ring toss, try your luck at beanbag throws, or aim for a win at other exciting challenges. With awesome prizes up for grabs, the carnival games add an extra layer of excitement to this already fantastic popcorn celebration.
